It all began back in 1996 when Adrian Orchard, a fully qualified technician, started Tractor Repairs & Spares Ltd as a home-based business, working out of a service vehicle, with his wife Pam doing the bookwork from home.
Today, Tractor Repairs & Spares Ltd have grown to include 70 staff and 5 branches. All situated in purpose-built premises and offering outstanding service.
In 1997 Tractor Repairs & Spares Ltd was offered the Massey Ferguson agency and Adrian’s reputation around the region for quality workmanship and delivering on time was the reason the offer was made. Having progressed from the workshop floor, he has an excellent knowledge of the industry. Adrian has a very good team of employees, who embrace the company’s commitment to quality workmanship and giving the best possible service.
2007 saw the innovative step to open a branch in Seddon, another important area of Marlborough’s wine production. Although operating from small premises, the Seddon operation proved to be a valuable asset to the region and in 2010 the move was made to a purpose-built site.
2010 was a big year for Tractor Repairs & Spares Ltd with the Seddon building and also being appointed AGCO’s agency for Massey Ferguson and Fendt in the Nelson region. A suitable workshop was found and the Nelson branch was born.
2016 was another step forward for Tractor Repairs & Spares Ltd with the purchase of TFM Tractors in Hastings. The TRS banners went up on new premises at 1211 Omahu Road. With a small team ready to carry on the service and support that has become part of the Tractor Repairs and Spares Ltd culture.
2023 seen the opening of a dedicated Gregoire Grape Harvester division in Blenheim. Due to the rapid growth of Gregoire Harvesters, specifically in Marlborough, we opened the purpose-built building which operates 24/7 to support the Marlborough region during grape harvest.
As the company continues to expand the emphasis is still on Adrian’s core values of delivering first class service and support.

Regular attendance at manufacturer’s training courses here and overseas is essential to keep abreast of new developments. We understand the problems downtime can cause and work swiftly to minimize the time lost.
All our branches have state of the art comprehensively equipped workshops, an essential environment for cost-effective repairs. With twelve service and support vehicles, spread over 4 branches we can often respond immediately to your requirements.
Our technicians service and repair a wide range of machinery , tractors , sprayers , harvesters and specialized vineyard machinery, our in house specialized fabrication facilities at Renwick are separate from our main workshop and able to undertake light fabrication work if our customers have a need.
Many of the company’s senior technicians have been with the business over ten years ensuring the continuity of quality work our customers deserve.
To ensure we have technicians trained to a high standard for the future the company employs five apprentices who follow a rigorous training schedule internally and externally.

Tractor Repairs & Spares has an extensive inventory of spare parts available over the counter for all the brands they service and support. For parts not in stock the majority of items are available overnight from our suppliers. We can also offer support for other brands with our extensive network of contacts throughout New Zealand and Australia. Our mission statement for the parts department is “If it’s available we can source it for you.”
Our branches at Renwick, Seddon, Hastings and Nelson work closely together and have complimentary inventories providing a first class service throughout the Marlborough, Nelson and Hawkes Bay regions.
To support our customers during harvest the company indents over $250,000 worth of specialist parts each year to ensure we can meet all the needs of customers at this critical time.
We use the latest technology to source customer requirements and ensure timely delivery keeping downtime to a minimum.
Our showrooms stock items such as Generators, knapsack sprayers, oils, toys and a comprehensive array of goods required for everyday use on the farm, in the vineyard or at home.
